Great place for so many reasons.
Beaches, bathrooms, playgrounds, CuriOddysey, boats, walking trails, launches for water activities like stand up paddle boarding, large grassy area for running, flat paved areas good for kids learn to ride bikes, picnic areas with grills that you can reserve, parking, informational signs about history and climate change.
Entry is six dollars per car. If you get the San Mateo County Parks Pass you can visit any time and never pay to enter! Well worth it!
Magic Mountain Playground - large double playground - part for older kids, part for younger kids. All fenced and gated so it's easier to manage littles who like to run.
There is a gun range in the area so you sometimes here the gun practice which can be jarring, annoying, or triggering for some.
Be aware that there is poison oak by the trails in the Eucalyptus Grove.
Beaches are swim at your own risk - no lifeguard.
Coyote Point is close to the airport - so you can watch planes fly in and out of SFO.
There is a second playground close to CuriOddysey.
Dogs are okay on leashes - EXCEPT - where marked "no dogs." Please respect rules regarding dogs! And pick up poop.
Please don't encourage kids to have water balloon fights with those little balloons - they are hard to pick and worsen the micro-plastic problem in soil and sea - not good for people or planet!
CuriOddysey is a WONDERFUL place - it has its own entry fee. Worth a family visit, for sure. Good for all ages to learn about enjoy science and nature.
Mostly non-native plants - such as eucalyptus - but some drought resistant and native California plants have been put in.
This is a wonderful place to spend time in - solo or with friends or family or a community group. Respect, care for, and enjoy this wonderful place.
It's ALWAYS a good time at the point. Been coming here since I was a child... The museum, fishing for stripers, walks along the protected environment, Beach with easy access restrooms for the kiddies to reach when theyre so busy playing they refuse to go until the last minute. Bring a kite! The wind perfect for that if you choose to hang by the beachy area. And it's safe, they've got a golf course and an on premises sheriff dept on site.
This park is a great place for BBQs, fishing, and has beautiful views of San Francisco, Sutro Tower, Monte Diablo, and other distant places.
Not worth paying for parking at the moment. Lots of trails and playgrounds are closed. Buff Trail is closed near Curiossedy so there’s no way to have a nice walk around. We ended up just walking in an empty parking lot near Eucalyptus.
Go to Seal Point instead. It’s free
Beautiful recreation park. Sea side walking enjoyable the sea breeze kissing your face feels like French kiss. Play area for little kids. Lots of wind surfers 🏄♂️. Ample tables and benches very good spot for picnics. Also thire is a cycling track. …
Visited in Aug 21 and had a great time. Our visit was for fishing and hike and it was great for both. Looks like a great place for kids and sailboarding. They have a nice bait shack and snacks for purchase. Several bathrooms with running water are spread out. The parking fee of six dollars is well worth it.
It is a beautiful picnic area where you can get panoramic views of SFO airport, Bay bridge, San Mateo bridge and the SF skyline. There are lots of picnic areas with restrooms which is surrounded by eucalyptus trees. It’s a really good place to view sunset.
Seemed like a nice park… except the gate attendant told us the park closed at 6pm. We got back to our car at 5:30 and had a $40 ticket on the dash :/ there were many other people still parked as well. So don’t believe what they tell you, believe the signs.
